The civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC annually in three stages — preliminary, mains and interviews — to select candidates for the elite Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others. The civil services preliminary examination was conducted on August 24 last year at 2,137 venues in 59 centres across the country. About 9.45 lakh candidates had applied for it but approximately 4.51 lakh appeared for the examination.
Civil Services 2016 Final Result Expected Soon
The final result of UPSC Civil Services examination 2016 is expected in the last week of April or first week of May. “The personality test that started on March 20, 2017 has just got over and currently the tabulation is done after combining Mains and Interview marks and after that the preparation of the final results will be done”, said sources close to the UPSC. “Once that is over, the cut off mark will be decided and the final list will be made ready for publication,” sources added. Civil Services Exam Result 2017 Preliminary
Civil Services Exam Result for preliminary exam will be declared in the month of September 2017 (Tentative). The Civil Services preliminary exam will be conducted on 18th June 2017. The results will be published in the form of PDF file in the official website of UPSC. The applicants will have to search their roll no. from the PDF file. The successful applicants of preliminary exam will be eligible to take part in Main exam, which will be held in the month of October 2017. The examination result of Civil Services Main exam will be declared in the month of February 2018. The qualified applicants of IAS Main exam will be eligible to take part in personal interview which will be scheduled in the month of March 2018. Civil Services final result will be declared in the month of April/May 2018.
UPSC schedule civil services examination every year for the recruitment of eligible applicants to the posts of IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IFA (Indian Foreign Service), IPS (Indian Police Service) & Central Services, Group A & Group B.
Stages of result declaration for Civil Services Exam
- For IAS Preliminary exam– This is the 1st stage of selection. The qualified applicants of preliminary exam will be eligible to take part in Main exam. The examination result of preliminary exam will be declared in the month of September 2017.
- For IAS Main exam– IAS main exam will be held in the month of October 2017 & the result will be declared in the month of February 2017. The qualified applicants of this stage will be called to take part in personal interview.
- For IAS final result- The final result for IAS 2017 will be declared on the basis of applicants’ performance in Main exam & personal interview together. Personal interview will be held in the month of March 2018 and final result for IAS will be declared in the month of May 2018.
UPSC IAS Mains Result 2016
As per UPSC Exam Calendar 2017, the notification of the Civil Services Preliminary examination 2017 will be released on February 22. It is expected that the result of UPSC Civil Services IAS Mains 2016 will be declared before February 22. The result of IAS Mains 2016 is awaited since December. Now, the wait is going to be over soon. Candidates are anxious over the delay in results. UPSC can declare the result in few days as the candidates who did not achieve the result of IAS Mains 2016 as per their expectation can reappear for the upcoming UPSC Civil Services Preliminary examination 2017. Candidates will be able to apply for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary examination 2017 by March 2017. The examination will be conducted on June 18.
After the preliminary round, IAS Mains 2017 will be conducted for the successful candidates on October 10. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the civil services examination for selecting eligible candidates for various administrative positions in All-India Services and central civil services including IAS, IFS, IRS, IPS and IRTS.
