UP Board class 10th & 12th result 2016 statistics:
UP Board of Secondary Education declared the results of High School (class 10) and Intermediate examinations (class 12) on May 15, 2016. The results was declared at the UP Board headquarters, Allahabad by the secretary Amarnath Verma at 12:30 pm.A total of 68,21,869 students, including 37,49,977 of High School and 30,71,892 of Intermediate, appeared for the exam. This includes 126 high school and 153 intermediate Schools candidates. 1612756 boys and 1304512 girl students have written their examinations this year, out of which 1360338 boys and 1206434 girls have passed the examination this year. The merit list is dominated by the students of Barabanki and Kannauj. According to board statement, 87.66 percent students passed in class 10th & 87.99 percent students passed in class 12th board examinations .
The UP class 10 and class 12 exams were conducted from February 18. While class 10 exam ended on March 9, class 12 exam was concluded on March 21.

The UP Board was established in 1921 at Allahabad under act of United Provinces Legislative Council. It conducted its first examination in 1923. This Board is one in India which, from the very start, had adopted 10+2 system of examination. The first public examination after 10 years education is High School Examination and after the 10+2 stage, there is Intermediate Examination. Prior to 1923, University of Allahabad was the examining body of these two examinations. The UP Board is one of the oldest education boards in India and which adopted the 10, +2 system of education.
