Mumbai University Degree Exam Result 2017

The Mumbai University Degree Exams 2017 are going to be conducted by the Mumbai University for various UG and PG courses. A huge number of candidates will appear in the examination and give their best to get good marks. The candidates have been eagerly waiting for the declaration of their respective results.

The Mumbai University Degree Exams Results 2017 will be declared by the Mumbai University soon along with the score cards on its official website i.e./mu.ac.in/portal/results/. It is advised to the candidates to keep their respective admit cards or hall tickets handy so that they won’t have to face any kind of hassle while checking the results.

The University of Mumbai is yet to announce results of over 200 courses, despite the fact that the examinations were held nearly two months ago. These include fifth semester results for three of the most popular courses such as BA, B Com and B.Sc. The examinations for a majority of courses were held in November, and the university has missed the 45-day deadline for prescribed by the Maharashtra University Act.

The delay, say experts, is especially surprising, considering the University had last year fasttracked its undergraduate exams, and completed them within a month of commencement. The number of evaluation centres was also increased to be able to release the results faster. “The major reason for the delay is that most exams were scheduled after Diwali vacations, and that left no time for evaluators to correct papers,” said Deepak Wasave, Controller of Examinations at the University.

The University is taking the issue of examinations lightly. There is no permanent controller and the staff is complacent. Students have been suffering for the last several years, and the tragedy is not going to end even if exams wrap up early,” said Pradeep Sawant, an ex-senate member from Yuva Sena.

Wasave said that while BA and BSc results are almost ready, B Com results could take some time due to technical difficulties. “We have several specialisation subjects that have the same set of teachers for evaluation. We cannot give all the papers to these teachers at the same time.”

Sources said it would take at least a month for all the results to be declared. Most students, meanwhile, say that they have gotten used to the delays.

“Every year students have to suffer due to delayed results, errors in mark sheets, and delays in re-evaluations. It’s high time the university takes these things seriously,” said a TYBA student from acollege in Matunga.
