Delhi University Joint Admission Test (DU JAT 2017)

Delhi University Joint Admission Test (DU JAT 2017) is conducted by the Delhi University for admission to Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) [BBA(FIA)], and B.A.(Hons) Business Economics courses. These 3 courses come under the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities.

DU JAT Application Form 2017

Here are the steps to apply for the DU JAT 2017 application process.

  • Go to the website http://admission.du.ac.in/ugent17/ and click on the link “Register Here”.
  • Fill in all the relevant information in the registration form to register yourself.
  • Now, fill in the personal, educational, and course details in the application form
  • In the next step, upload the scanned images of photograph, signature, ID Proof, and Date of Birth Proof.
  • Enter your postal address and submit all the details.
  • After filling the complete application form candidates need to pay the application feeonline through credit/debit card and net banking.
  • Candidates are advised to take a printout of the completed application form for future use.

Application Fee:

  • The application fee can be paid through online mode (debit/credit card or net banking).
  • The application fee will be Rs. 500 for general and OBC and Rs. 250/- for SC, ST & PwD candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying. The basic eligibility criteria is mentioned below:

  • Qualification: Students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
  • Percentage: Candidates must have obtained at least 60% (for general/OBC), 54% (for CW/PwD) and 50% for SC/ST candidates.
  • Appearing: Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for this exam.

DU JAT Exam Pattern

  • Type of Question: There will be objective type questions asked in the exam.
  • Exam Mode: The exam will be organized through pen and paper based mode.
  • Duration: The exam duration will be two hours.
  • Sections: The exam will comprise of sections like Quantitative Ability, General English, Business & General Awareness and Reasoning & Analytical Ability.
  • Marking Scheme: 3 marks will be given for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

DU-JAT Syllabus

To prepare better for the examination, students should prepared as per the syllabus. The syllabus will have various topics such as Business & General Awareness, General English, Reasoning & Analytical Ability and Quantitative Ability.

DU JAT Admit Card 2017

Candidates can get the DU JAT 2017 Admit Card from the first week of June 2018. Students can download the admit card through online mode. The admit card will bear details like student’s name, roll number, photograph, exam centre, exam date & time, etc. The Admit Card for the entrance exam will be available on the online registration account. The link for downloading admit card will be made available after 31st May 2017 (last date for online registration). Candidates are advised to visit the Under Graduate admission portals for information about the Admit Card availability.The Admit Card will bear the candidate’s Roll Number, Name, and Exam Center allotted. Candidates are advised to take a printout of their admit card and preserve it in a good condition till the admission process is over. Entry in examination hall will only be allowed with the admit card.

DU JAT Result

Appeared students can check the DU JAT 2018 Result through online mode from the first week of July 2018. After clearing the entrance test, candidates will be selected for GD (Group Discussion) and PI (Personal Interview) rounds. The final result will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance test and GD & PI rounds.The result of the DU JAT 2017 will be declared online on or before 4th July 2017 on the official website of the Delhi University. Candidates who qualify in the written test will be shortlisted for Interview/Group Discussion. After the completion of Interview/Group Discussion,the final list will be announced for the admission process.

Counselling Process

DU JAT Counselling 2018 will be started after the declaration of final result of entrance exam and other admission rounds. Shortlisted candidates are required to produce the necessary documents in original at the time of admission. During counselling process, candidates also have to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.

DU JAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who fulfill the following eligibility criteria can apply for the DU JAT 2017.

  • Candidate should have an aggregate of 60% marks in Class 12th in 4 papers, including English, Mathematics and other two subjects from the list of elective subjects approved by the University of Delhi.
  • Candidate should have passed separately in each of the four subjects to be considered in computing the average.
  • The candidates who have appeared for improvement in the Class 12th exam in 2017 will not be considered for admission in the current year.
  • The candidates having a compartment in the current year will not be considered for admission.
  • The candidate must produce the confirmed result and marksheet of the 12th class on the day of the Group Discussion/Personal Interview to be eligible for admission.
  • The reserved category certificate in the name of the candidate must be produced on the day of the interview and group discussion.
  • Foreign candidates need to apply through the Foreign Students Advisor as per the University of Delhi rules.
  • The weightage of the entrance exam and interview/group discussion is as follows- 85% for the entrance test and 15% for the GD/Interview
