RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2021

  • The Computer Based Test will be conducted.
  • The multiple choice question will appear in the exam.
  • The question comes from the Subjects like general knowledge, awareness, mathematics, reasoning etc.
  • All the Questions will be 10th class standard level.
  • There will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark.

RRB Group D Syllabus 2021 for Mathematics

Questions will be asked from the following topics of Mathematics:

(1) Simplification

  • of Questions: 8-10 Questions
  • Topics: This is one of the difficult parts of the exam. Questions may be based on BODMAS, Square Root Approx Value, Percentage, Fractions, Decimals and Surds and Indices, Reciprocals of Numbers.

(2) Data Interpretation

  • of Questions: 5-6 Questions
  • Topics: This is time-consuming topics but the candidate is prepared well then this will be the scoring topic also. Questions will be asked on Tabular Graph, Pie Chart, Line Graph, Bar Graph.

(3) Algebra

  • of Questions: 4-5 Questions
  • Topics: In this section, questions level will be difficult and time-consuming also. Identities, Linear Equation in 1 Variable, Linear Equation in 2 Variable, Quadratic Equation, Polynomials, Unit digit, Linear inequalities and Functions

(4) Percentages

  • of Questions: 3-4 Questions
  • Topics: This is easy one topic. Simple questions on Calculation-oriented basic percentage may be asked in the exam.

(5) Number System

  • of Questions: 3-4 Questions
  • Topics: A little bit tricky questions may be asked from this topic. Topics will be as follows- LCM and HCF, Divisibility and Remainder, Integers and Rational and Irrational numbers

(6) Averages

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: Question level will be easy to moderate. Hardly 2 questions can appear in the exam from this topic. Topics will be Average Weight/Height/Age/Marks, Average Money Expenditure, Average Temperature etc.

(7) Ratio and Proportion

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: Easy questions on Simple Ratios, Compound Ratios, Direct or Indirect Proportion, Componendo or Dividend, Fourth Proportional, Third Proportional, Age, Mean Proportional may appear in the exam paper.

(8) Mixture Problems

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: There is a high probability that one question will be asked from this topic. Question level may be a little bit difficult. The topic of questions may be Problems on making a mixture of two or more entities/mixtures.

(9) Mensuration

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: One or two questions will be definitely come from this topic. Areas & volume of Square, Rectangle, Circle or Semi Circle, Triangle, Rhombus, Trapezium, Cone, Cylinder, Cube, Cuboid, Sphere, Right Prism, Tetrahedron, Pyramid may be the topic.

(10) Time and Work

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: Easy and less time-consuming questions on time and work can be asked in the exam. Work Efficiency, Work and Wages, Pipes and Cistern can be the topics of questions.

(11) Speed Time and Distance

  • of Questions: 2-3 Questions
  • Topics: This is the simple but important topic. Formulas based questions may come from this topic. Topics will be Partial Speed, Relative Speed, Average Speed, Boat and River, Problem on Trains.

(12) Interest

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: There are high chances that questions of interest will be asked in the RRB Technician CBT Exam. Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Combined problems on SI & CI.

(13) Profit and Loss

  • of Questions: 2-3 Questions
  • Topics: Profit and loss are important topics as per the RRB Technician. We advise candidates to give attention on this topic during the preparations. Question level may be high in this topic. Topics of questions may be Dishonest Dealings, Successive Selling, Partnership, Discount and Marked Price and Mixture Problems.

(14) Number Series

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: Easy questions on number series can be asked in the paper. Topics will be Problems on Completing the Series, Finding the Missing Term, Finding the Wrong Term.

(15) Geometry

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: There is less chance of questions on this topics but it is better to prepare for all. So candidates can prepare for these given topics – Basic problems on Triangles, Congruence & Similarity, Theorems on Segments, Tangents & Chords, Basic Questions on different types of Quadrilaterals, Co-ordinate Geometry

(16) Trigonometry

  • of Questions: 0-1 Questions
  • Topics: 1 question can come from the trigonometry topic. Topics may be Identities, Functions, Heights and Distances, Max and Min value, Circular Measure of Angles.

(17) Probability

  • of Questions: 0-1 Questions
  • Topics: easy questions on probability. Questions will be based on very basic problems on probability.

RRB Group D Syllabus 2021 for Reasoning and General Intelligence

(1) Analogy

  • of Questions: 3-4 Questions
  • Topics: Difficult questions on Analogy can be asked in the exam. Questions from Analogy can be Letter based, Letter and Number based, Meaning-Based, GK based, Image-Based and based on members of a group.

(2) Series

  • of Questions: 4-5 Questions
  • Topics: This is the most important topics from general intelligence and reasoning subject. Series questions level will be high comparatively others. Topics will be as follows- Alphabetic Series, Number Series, Mixed Series, General Knowledge Series.

(3) Coding and Decoding

  • of Questions: 2-3 Questions
  • Topics: Questions will be from Coding and decoding by letter shifting, Coding and decoding in fictitious language, Coding letter of a word, Operation based on place value, Coding by analogy.

(4) Puzzles

  • of Questions: 3-5 Questions
  • Topics: 3-5 questions can be asked from puzzles. Type of questions will be medium difficult. Topics may be- Quant based puzzle, Logical puzzle (Equation insert, BODMAS rule, Inequality, Coded logic), Seating Arrangement (Circular Arrangement, Linear Arrangement), Scheduling, Double Line up, Clock Calendar.

(5) Direction and Distance

  • of Questions: 0-1 Questions
  • Topics: One question from directions and distance topic can be asked in the exam. Route & network-based problems topics are important as per the exam.

(6) Blood Relation

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: Easy question on General blood relation problems, Family tree problems, Coded blood relation problems may come from this topic.

(7) Alphabet and Word Test

  • of Questions: 0-1 Questions
  • Topics: Candidates don’t need to give much attention on this topic. Topics can be Sequence (Logical order, Dictionary order, Reverse dictionary order), New word by adding prefix, New word by adding Suffix, Jumble words (Find odd one, Unjumble words), Matrix, Word formation (New word formed, Word cannot be formed)

(8) Venn Diagram

  • of Questions: 2-3 Questions
  • Topics: Venn diagram is an important topic as per the paper aspect. Questions from Logical Venn Diagram, Venn diagram problem, Syllogism topics can be asked in the paper.

(9) Missing Number

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: Matrix & diagram related problems.

(10) Non-Verbal Reasoning

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: Non-Verbal Reasoning is an important topic for the exam. There are chances that 2 questions can come from this topic. Assemble Image, Mirror Image, Hidden Image, Completion of Incomplete Pattern, Cubes and Dice (Construction of Boxes, Problems on Dice), Paper Folding and Cutting, Missing Term, Counting Figures are the important topic for the exam from this.

(11) Classification

  • Topics: One or two questions from classification can be asked in the paper. Topics may be as follows- Letter based, Letter and number based, Meaning based, General knowledge-based, Image-Based, Number based.

(12) Verbal Reasoning

  • of Questions: 1-2 Questions
  • Topics: 1 or 2 questions from verbal reasoning will be asked in the exam. Topics may be as follows- Statements and Conclusions, Statements and Inferences, Statements and Assumptions, Assertion and Reason, Course of Action, Statements and Arguments.

Questions will be asked from the topics like Science and Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics, and Current Affairs and Budget, Railway Budget etc.

(1) Current Affairs

  • of Questions: 6-7 Questions
  • Topics: The Current affair is the important topics for the exam. Topics those are important for the exam are- Art and Culture, Awards and Honors, Business and Economy, Books and Authors, Committees and Recommendations. National Affairs, People in News, Places in News, Defense news, Days and Events, Government Policies and Schemes, Sports, Capitals and Currencies, Appointments and Resignations.

(2) Geography

  • of Questions: 7-10 Questions
  • Topics: Candidates should be updated with the Indian geography of all states. Questions will be definitely asked from this subject. Topics can be Indian Geography (National Park & Centuries, Wildlife Centuries etc.)
